In view of the heavy rain forecast, the Telangana School Education Department issued orders declaring holidays for schools in five districts on Wednesday and Thursday. Holidays have been announced for schools in Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Mahabubabad, Yadadri, Khammam, Bhadradri and Bhuvanagiri districts. In the Greater Hyderabad region, the department directed that schools operate only half day sessions on Wednesday and Thursday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed incharge ministers and officials to remain alert in view of the heavy rains. He reviewed the situation with district collectors via video conference from the Hyderabad Command Control Center. The CM ordered that all department employees leaves be canceled for the next three days. He also directed that helicopters be kept ready for airlifting in case of sudden floods and advised heightened alertness for flood threats in Hyderabad. IT employees have been advised to work from home and officials have been told to ensure this is implemented.
