A New Clarion Call for Journalists’ Unity in Khammam.

With the objectives of protecting journalists rights, strengthening unity and achieving welfare measures, the General Body meeting of the Telangana Journalists Media Union was held with great enthusiasm at Manchikanti Bhavan in the Khammam district headquarters. Conducted under the leadership of the Union’s founder and State President, I. Prabhakar, the meeting emerged as a guiding platform for addressing journalists issues. During the meeting, M.D. Fassiddin was elected as the Khammam District President. CPI(M) Party Secretary Nunna Nageswara Rao and State Legal Advisor Advocate Gorentla Janaki Ramaiah attended the meeting as chief guests and addressed the journalists. They were felicitated with bouquets and shawls.

● Journalism Is the Backbone of Democracy – Nunna Nageswara Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, Nunna Nageswara Rao said that since the freedom struggle, journalism has played a crucial role as a platform for conveying peoples problems to the authorities. He stated that in a democracy, journalists bear the responsibility of acting as watchdogs of society and providing direction to the public. He emphasized the need for responsible journalism and honest reporting. Acknowledging the challenges currently faced by journalists, he said greater priority must be given to their welfare. He urged collective efforts to resolve issues such as housing plots, insurance, accreditation and assured that his support, cooperation would always be available in addressing journalists problems.

● We Will Stand as Legal Support – Gorentla Janaki Ramaiah.

State Legal Advisor Gorentla Janaki Ramaiah said that he would extend complete legal support to Union members in case of any legal issues. He described the service rendered by journalists to society as invaluable and highlighted their key role in resolving public issues.

● Strengthening the Union Is the Goal – State President I. Prabhakar.

TJMU State President I. Prabhakar called upon every member to move forward unitedly to strengthen the Union at the state level. He clarified that resolving journalists issues is the primary objective of the Union. He stated that a lawful struggle would continue on welfare issues such as accreditation, housing plots and insurance. He said that journalists from all sectors, including digital media, would be brought onto a single platform to move forward with unity. He also mentioned that the Union would work for journalists development by providing legal assistance and organizing awareness programs.

● Commitment to Union Development – District President M.D. Fassiddin.

Newly elected District President M.D. Fassiddin said that, with the guidance of state leadership and the cooperation of members, he would strive for the development of the Union. He assured that he would take steps to resolve members issues brought to his notice and would further strengthen the Union in Khammam district.

● Journalists Unity Is the Real Strength – District Vice President Venkatraju Keshiraju.

District Vice President Venkatraju Keshiraju stated that permanent solutions to problems are possible only through journalists unity. He said the Union would continue its constant efforts on issues related to journalists rights, welfare, accreditation and insurance. He added that by enhancing coordination among members and moving forward collectively, the Union would become even stronger.
The meeting was attended by State EC Member Samala Praveen, Sathupalli Division President Dhoopati Naresh Raju and several members from the erstwhile Khammam district.
