Demands temporary halt to demolitions ahead of Bonalu festival

Quthbullapur: BRS leaders criticised the demolition of roadside business structures from TSIIC Colony to Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, alleging that poor street vendors were being deprived of their livelihoods without prior notice or alternative arrangements. On learning about the demolition drive by CMC Town Planning officials, CMC Division BRS President Puppala Bhaskar visited the spot and questioned the authorities. The issue was later brought to the attention of Quthbullapur MLA K.P. Vivekanand, who reportedly requested officials to suspend the demolitions for two weeks in view of the upcoming Bonalu festival and to provide relief to the affected vendors. According to the BRS, following the MLA’s intervention, Town Planning officials temporarily halted the demolition drive. Several party leaders, including Doodimetla Somesh Yadav, Pole Srikanth, Rudra Ashok, Ismail, and Jai Krishna, were present during the protest.
