Collector Distributes Tricycles and Wheelchairs to Persons with Disabilities

District Collector Manu Choudhary stated that persons with disabilities should make proper use of the tricycles and wheelchairs provided by the government and work towards improving their economic conditions. He assured that the district administration would extend all necessary guidance and support whenever required. The Collector was the chief guest at a distribution programme held on Monday at the Sakhi Centre in Alwal, organized by the District Women, Children and Disabled Welfare Department. During the programme, 56 tricycles and 14 wheelchairs were distributed to persons with disabilities. Additional Collector Faizan Ahmed, RDO Om Prakash, Alwal Tahsildar Ramulu, and District Women and Child Welfare Officer Sharada attended the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that despite physical challenges, persons with disabilities should remain mentally strong and move forward with determination to achieve their goals. He stated that physical limitations should not become obstacles if there is mental strength and confidence, and encouraged them to excel in all fields. He said the administration would stand by them to help turn their ideas into reality and support them in achieving better living conditions in the future. The Collector also said that the government would extend full support to those interested in starting small businesses, startups, or shops to improve their livelihoods. He further stated that assistance would also be provided for the education and career development of their children. Skill development programmes, career counselling, and training opportunities would be made available so that they can build capabilities and succeed in various fields. Financial assistance would also be provided in accordance with government guidelines. The Collector assured that efforts would be made to provide wheelchairs and tricycles to all eligible beneficiaries who could not receive them this time. Later, the Collector, along with Additional Collector Faizan Ahmed, distributed the tricycles and wheelchairs to the beneficiaries. The Collector also inspected the Sakhi Centre and reviewed its facilities and services.
