In Telangana, the government is set to make a key decision today on conducting local body elections. On Friday, CM Revanth will hold a meeting with Panchayat Raj department officials. Minister Seethakka, Principal Secretary Sridhar, and Commissioner Srujana will participate in this meeting. Since the High Court has set a deadline to conduct the local elections by the 30th of this month, the government is likely to request more time. It is also reported that the Chief Minister will take a crucial decision regarding 42% reservations for BCs in these elections. By today, clarity is expected in the local elections. The BC Reservation Bill, though passed in the Assembly, is still pending with the President. Against this backdrop, the CM is likely to give clarity today on issuing the G.O for 42% BC reservations. Meanwhile, district officials have already prepared the reservation lists as per government orders. Once the Panchayat Raj department issues the G.O, district authorities will officially release the lists.
