Shankara Jayanti was celebrated in a grand manner at Sringeri Shankara Math in Tirupati on Friday. In the evening, a procession was taken out from the local Shankara Math to Sri Kodandaramaswamy Temple with a palanquin procession through all four Mada streets. A large number of devotees participated in this program. They took out the procession chanting slogans of Jaya Jaya Shankara. Women paraded the portraits of Adi Shankaracharya. The program was held under the auspices of Math Dharmadhikari Rallapalli Ramamurthy, and Tirupati Branch Chief Secretary Gandrakota Lakshmi Manohar, Math Manager Nadimpalli Krishna, Poorna Chandra, Surabhi Murali and other devotees participated.
