Idian-American astronaut Sunita Williams has successfully returned to Earth on Wednesday after being in space for about nine months and 13 days. Along with her, her fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore and two other crew members, NASA’s Nick Hague and Russia’s Alexander Gorbunov, have also returned. These four astronauts landed safely on the Florida beach via SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. This mission was originally only for eight days

Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore left for the International Space Station (ISS) on Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft on June 5, 2024 last year. This mission was originally only for eight days, but their return was delayed due to technical malfunctions in the Starliner—such as helium leak and thruster problems. NASA had decided to bring the Starliner back without a crew in September 2024, after which Sunita and Wilmore were planned to be brought back through SpaceX’s Crew-9 mission.
