The values of a ‘Draupadi-like chastity’, are stripped away.
Justice collapses upright and honest integrity
Is caught in the snare laid by leaders.
Elections have turned into a game of illusionary dice,
Dreams shatter, leaving only despair.
Over the fighting Abhimanyus
Lurks an ever-present ‘Chakravyuha’..!!
In every era, a Duryodhana is born this is the truth.
Courts and councils fill with Shakuni uncles and Dushasanas.
The throne bears a grudge against questioning intellectuals.
It is called the rule of the people,
Yet for the people, justice amounts to zero..!!
The Mahabharata renews itself every day; Today’s life itself is a Kurukshetra.
The moral thread that binds humanity
Is being torn to shreds.
Every person must become an Arjuna
And wield the weapon of the written word.
We must study the Constitution ‘That alone is our true scripture’.
