Says investment in children’s health and education is an investment in Telangana’s future

Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 8: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the new Balamrutham Production Plant of the Telangana Foods Corporation at IDA Nacharam and reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring quality nutrition and education for children.

After inaugurating the facility, the Chief Minister inspected the production and packaging units and planted a sapling on the premises. Addressing the gathering, he said the government has launched several initiatives with a clear focus on improving child nutrition, education, and women’s empowerment.

Revanth Reddy said the new Balamrutham plant would provide nutritious food to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children up to six years of age, ensuring better health outcomes from pregnancy through early childhood. He stressed that healthy children are the foundation of a healthy Telangana and a stronger nation.

The Chief Minister said the government is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards in the production of nutritional supplements and urged officials not to compromise on quality.

Recalling that the Balamrutham initiative was originally launched in Mahabubnagar, he noted that the facility has now expanded into a 21-acre production centre capable of supplying nutritional products to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and several other states.

Highlighting reforms in the education sector, Revanth Reddy said the government has introduced nursery education in government schools and is providing free breakfast, lunch, and evening snacks to students from nursery to Class XII. He said the state spends ₹27,000 crore annually on education, describing it as an investment in the future rather than an expenditure.

The Chief Minister also outlined several welfare initiatives focused on women, including free bus travel in RTC buses, free electricity up to 200 units, Indiramma housing in women’s names, financial assistance to self-help groups, solar power projects, petrol pumps, RTC bus leasing opportunities, Indira Mahila Shakti Centres, and women-run canteens in government offices.

He further announced that the government is committed to constructing one lakh houses for the urban poor in Hyderabad and reiterated its goal of creating one crore women millionaires by 2034 through employment, entrepreneurship, and financial empowerment.
