Midnight Aadhaar Hacking..!! Aadhaar Centre Operators in Distress – Is This the Work of Cyber Criminals..??

Aadhaar centre operators are alarmed as their login-related emails are skyrocketing. They are receiving continuous messages stating that biometric logins were attempted after midnight, leaving them shocked. Operators are questioning whether these messages are due to a technical glitch or if there is some other reason behind them. They fear that someone might be using their IDs to make changes to Aadhaar cards. Operators are also worried that terrorists might misuse their IDs. Emails indicate that attempts are being made to open operators’ logins past midnight. Unknown individuals are trying multiple times sometimes dozens of times to log in using the operators’ personal biometric details, but failing. Some operators say they have even received emails showing that a few login attempts were successful. This has intensified fears of hacking.

Such incidents are occurring not only in Nizamabad, Hyderabad, Khammam, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Medak and Nagar Kurnool districts, but also in several other places. From midnight to early morning, operators are receiving anywhere between 20 and over 100 email alerts. Usually, when operators log in, messages may sometimes get delayed, and even then, they appear only once. But now the alerts are repeatedly coming throughout the night. Since Aadhaar is being linked to almost everything nowadays, including bank accounts, operators are extremely worried that such messages are coming specifically to their login IDs.
Operators fear major consequences if Aadhaar cards are issued to people from other states or even other countries using their IDs. They point out that terrorists could also obtain Aadhaar cards using their IDs. If terrorists acquire Aadhaar cards using fake identities through their operator IDs, the operators themselves may face legal trouble. Operators are unsure whether these email alerts are the result of technical errors or something more serious. They are urging UIDAI officials to step in and clarify the situation.
In Hyderabad, an operator named Mukesh received messages indicating that his login was attempted about 200 times within a span of six days. In Gandhari mandal of Kamareddy district, operator Srikanth has been receiving about 30 messages every day for the past month. In Maldakal mandal of Jogulamba Gadwal district, operator Siddu received nearly 31 messages in just one night. In Penuballi mandal of Khammam district, operator Jagam Srinivas has been receiving such messages for 15 days. Although Aadhaar centre operators have repeatedly complained to UIDAI officials, there has been no response so far. Even the MeeSeva Commissioner has complained to UIDAI, but the issue still remains unresolved. Operators are pleading with authorities to resolve the problem at least now.
