The National Testing Agency (NTA) has delivered shocking news to lakhs of students who appeared for the national-level medical entrance examination, NEET-UG 2026. Amid serious allegations of a question paper leak in Rajasthan, the NTA officially announced on Tuesday that the examination conducted across the country on May 3 has been cancelled. The government stated that this decision was taken to protect students interests and maintain trust in the examination system.

● Fraud in the Name of a ‘Practice Paper’ on WhatsApp.

According to Rajasthan Additional DGP Vishal Bansal, the question paper had already begun circulating on WhatsApp nearly 42 hours before the exam. Investigation agencies analyzed a ‘practice paper’ that went viral in Sikar, Rajasthan, before the examination and uncovered shocking facts. More than 120 questions in that paper (worth nearly 600 marks) matched the actual NEET question paper exactly. Not only the questions, but even the order of the answer options remained unchanged, confirming the leak.

● Kerala Connection Deals up to ₹2 Lakhs.

Police identified an MBBS student from Kerala as one of the key persons behind the scam. The student reportedly sent the material to a friend in Sikar on May 1, from where it spread through PG hostels, coaching centers, and career counselors to students. The material contained more than 300 handwritten questions related to Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Evidence suggests that amounts ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹2 lakhs were collected from each student.

● When Will the Re-Exam Be Conducted..??

NTA assured students not to panic over the cancellation. The cancelled exam will be conducted again soon. New examination dates will be announced shortly. Students will not need to pay any additional fee. No fresh registration process will be required. New admit cards will be issued based on the previous applications.
Meanwhile, the CBI has launched an investigation into the matter. Several suspects have already been arrested, and authorities are working to identify the network behind the scam. Students have been advised to follow the official NTA website for the latest updates.
