Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy criticises Congress over irrigation and water management issues

Hyderabad, July 14: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy participated in the BRS MLAs’ press conference held at Telangana Bhavan on Monday and criticised the Congress government over its handling of irrigation and farmers’ issues.

Addressing the media, the MLA alleged that the State Government was giving priority to politics instead of protecting the interests of farmers. He claimed that while nearly one lakh cusecs of water was going waste near Medigadda, several parts of Telangana were facing water shortages.

Lakshma Reddy further alleged that the government was not operating the Kannepalli pumps citing the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA). He also questioned why Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who had written to the Centre on Metro Rail issues, had not written to the NDSA regarding the operation of the pumps.

The remarks were made during the BRS media interaction at Telangana Bhavan.
