Bandari Lakshma Reddy urges removal of aquatic weeds, desilting of lakes and development of public amenities

Uppal, July 14: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy submitted a representation to HYDRAA Commissioner Ranganath, IPS, seeking immediate measures for the restoration of lakes and protection of public health in the Uppal constituency.

In the representation, the MLA pointed out that the excessive growth of aquatic weeds in Nacharam Patelkunta Lake and Ramanthapur Chinna Cheruvu has led to an increase in mosquito breeding, causing health concerns for nearby residents. He urged the authorities to remove the weeds and clean the lakes at the earliest.

Lakshma Reddy also requested the desilting of all lakes in the constituency to enhance their water storage capacity. As part of the lake beautification programme, he proposed the development of walking tracks and open-air stages to provide residents, especially senior citizens, with recreational spaces and venues for social and cultural activities.

The MLA appealed to the HYDRAA Commissioner to issue necessary directions to the concerned officials and expedite the proposed development works in the larger public interest.
