Requests release of ₹35 lakh for nala desilting and slab replacement

Uppal, July 14: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy urged the GHMC Zonal Commissioner to take immediate steps to resolve the recurring waterlogging problem near Johnson Grammar School in HMT Nagar Division.
The MLA stated that the flooding is caused by heavy silt accumulation in the open drain located behind Shanthi Gardens, preventing rainwater from flowing freely and resulting in water stagnation near the school during rains.
He suggested removing the existing slabs over the drain, carrying out desilting works, and reinstalling precast slabs to restore proper drainage. Lakshma Reddy informed the Zonal Commissioner that proposals worth ₹35 lakh had already been submitted for the work and requested the immediate sanction of funds to execute the project without delay.
BRS State leader Saizen Shekhar was also present during the programme.
