Hyderabad, July 9: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated Premier Energies’ 5.6 GW Solar Module Manufacturing Unit at Seetharampur in Ranga Reddy district, along with Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said the Telangana government is committed to transforming the 2,100 sq. km core urban region within Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road (ORR) into a pollution-free zone while planning infrastructure to meet the needs of its 13.5 million population.
He said Hyderabad should learn from the environmental challenges faced by metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. The government has formulated a policy to shift polluting industries outside the ORR into designated manufacturing zones in the peri-urban region, where suitable land will be allotted for industrial relocation.
Revanth Reddy appreciated Premier Energies for establishing the manufacturing facility within just 12 months, describing it as the first major unit in the newly identified manufacturing zone. He also inspected the company’s solar module production line and the Solar OxyTree, a solar-powered street lighting and air purification system developed by the company.
The Chief Minister said the state is implementing the Telangana Rising 2047 Vision, aiming to build a $1 trillion economy by 2034 through balanced regional development. He stressed the importance of skill development, strengthening ITIs, polytechnic colleges, and the proposed Skills University to prepare youth for emerging industrial opportunities.
Emphasising environmental sustainability, he said renewable energy technologies and innovative clean-air solutions would play a key role in reducing pollution and ensuring sustainable urban growth. He also called upon citizens to actively participate in environmental protection efforts.
The programme was attended by Legislative Council Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, Kale Yadaiah, Premier Energies Chairman Surender Pal Singh Saluja, Managing Director Chiranjeev Singh Saluja, Director Sudhir Moola, Executive Director Revathi Rohini, senior government officials, and company representatives.
