CPI Pays Tribute to Doddi Komuraiah on 80th Death Anniversary

Party vows to intensify struggles for people’s issues inspired by Telangana armed struggle martyr

Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 4: The Communist Party of India (CPI), Medchal District Committee, paid rich tributes to Telangana Armed Peasant Struggle’s first martyr, Doddi Komuraiah, on his 80th death anniversary at the party’s district office.

CPI Medchal District Secretary E. Uma Mahesh garlanded Komuraiah’s portrait and recalled his sacrifice in the fight against feudal oppression, bonded labour and exploitation during the Nizam’s rule. He said Komuraiah’s martyrdom on July 4, 1946, during a protest in Kadavendi village became a turning point in the Telangana Armed Peasant Struggle, inspiring thousands of farmers and agricultural labourers to join the movement.

Uma Mahesh stated that Komuraiah’s ideals continue to inspire the fight for social justice, equality and democratic values. He called upon the youth to uphold the spirit of sacrifice and courage displayed by Komuraiah and participate in struggles for the protection of people’s rights. He also asserted that the CPI would continue to fight for the rights of farmers, workers and other weaker sections.

The programme was attended by CPI State Committee member G. Damodar Reddy, DHPS Secretary Anil Kumar, DHPS State President Yesu Ratnam, CPI district executive members T. Satya Prasad and K. Dharmendra, district committee members Lakshmi Narayana and Nara Narasimha, NFIW leaders Shobha and Vijaya, along with several party leaders and activists.
