Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 10: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy, along with former corporators Jeripothula Prabhudas and Gundarapu Srinivas Reddy, inaugurated the construction of a box drain from Panchamukha Hanuman Temple in Annapurna Colony to Old Meerpet Hanuman Temple in Mallapur Division on Thursday.
During the visit, the MLA interacted with local residents and reviewed civic issues, including drainage, drinking water supply, and replacement of overhead electricity lines. He instructed officials from the Municipal Administration, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board, and the Electricity Department to coordinate and complete the pending works at the earliest.
Addressing the gathering, Bandari Lakshma Reddy said the widened box drain would ensure smooth stormwater flow, prevent waterlogging during the rainy season, and stop drainage overflow onto roads, providing long-term relief to residents.
The programme was attended by Water Board DGM Venu Gopal, Work Inspector Bikshapathi, Colony President Pandala Narasimha Goud, Secretary Sanjay Naik, and local leaders and residents.
