KAPRA: A major controversy has surfaced in Kamalanagar Colony under A.S. Rao Nagar Division in the Kapra Circle, after gym equipment worth several lakhs of rupees, installed with public funds for the benefit of local youth, mysteriously disappeared. A few years ago, the government had set up a gym with modern equipment at the Kamalanagar Colony Welfare Association office to promote health and fitness among the youth. However, residents recently discovered that all the gym equipment had vanished from the facility, triggering anger and concern among the colony’s residents. The gym was located in a room on the first floor of the Welfare Association building. Although the equipment had reportedly been unused for some time, residents were shocked to find the entire set missing when the room was recently opened. The disappearance of equipment purchased with public money has raised several serious questions among the residents:

Where did the gym equipment go?

Who removed the equipment from the premises?

Was the equipment sold off?

If so, who pocketed the money?

Residents have strongly condemned the incident, calling it a blatant misuse and disappearance of public assets. They have demanded a thorough investigation by the police, municipal authorities, and other concerned officials to identify those responsible for the missing equipment. The residents are urging the authorities to immediately uncover the facts and take strict action against those involved. They have also warned that if officials fail to respond promptly, they will launch a large-scale protest. – Tadoori Gagan Kumar, Convener, Right to Information Protection Committee, Medchal–Malkajgiri District.
