Urges simultaneous execution of RRR North and South stretches to reduce cost and expedite completion

New Delhi, July 14: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi and sought early approval for several key infrastructure projects, including the Regional Ring Road (RRR) and new national highways in Telangana.
The Chief Minister informed the Union Minister that nearly 95 per cent of the land acquisition for the northern stretch of the RRR has been completed and requested that the project be placed before the Union Cabinet for approval. He also urged the Centre to grant immediate clearance for the southern stretch, stating that simultaneous execution of both sections would reduce costs and ensure faster completion.
Revanth Reddy also requested approval for the proposed Greenfield Highway connecting Hyderabad with Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amaravati, as envisaged under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. He proposed a 12-lane corridor from the Future City through Amaravati to Machilipatnam Port, saying it would reduce the Hyderabad–Vijayawada travel distance by nearly 100 kilometres and improve freight movement.
The Chief Minister further sought the Union Minister’s support in securing forest clearances for the Mannanur–Srisailam Elevated Corridor and requested approval for a six-lane alternative highway between Hyderabad and Mancherial. He said the State Government would undertake the required land acquisition and added that the project would boost agricultural and commercial activity.
Nalgonda MP Raghuveer and senior officials were also present during the meeting.
