Programme Organised in Memory of Vadloju Saraswathi; Sanitation Workers Receive Umbrellas
Kapra, September 22: A tree plantation and umbrella distribution programme was organised at Jai Jawan Colony, Sacket Towers, under Kapra Circle of the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, as part of Environment Week.
The programme was organised under the leadership of Lion Vadloju Jyothirmaya Chari, Founder and Chairman of VBS (Vadloju Bikshapathi Sir Saraswathi Memorial Seva Organisation) and Zone Chairperson of Lions Clubs International District 320 C. The programme was held in memory of her mother, Vadloju Saraswathi.
As part of the programme, saplings were planted to promote environmental protection. Umbrellas were also distributed to sanitation workers as a measure to support them while carrying out their duties.
Lions Clubs International District Governor Lion Krishna Reddy attended as the chief guest. Kushaiguda SHO L. Bhaskar Reddy, Jawahar Nagar SHO Saidulu and SI Nirmala Venkanna attended as special guests.
Vice Governors Manda Suresh and Lion Shekar Reddy, RC Srinivasa Reddy, Secretary Kallem Mohan Reddy, President Kalakonda Bikshapathi, Lion Mahankali Narasimha Chari, Lion Vijay Goud, Lion Anantha Lakshmi and Lion Priyanka were among those who participated in the programme.
Officials from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and the Environment Department also attended the event.
