Standing as the fourth pillar of democracy and working tirelessly every day to resolve public issues, the Telangana Journalist Media Union (TJMU) has sounded the battle cry for the protection of journalists rights. The TJMU constituency-level general body meeting held on Thursday at the Camilloids Guest House in Aswaraopeta town of Bhadradri Kothagudem district concluded with unprecedented enthusiasm and immense unity among journalists, making it a grand success.

● I will stand by journalists – local MLA Jare Adinarayana.

Speaking as the chief guest at the general body meeting, local MLA Jare Adinarayana praised journalists for serving as a crucial bridge between the people and the government in society. He made it clear that he would always remain committed to the welfare of journalists in the constituency. He assured that he would extend full support from his side through the government to ensure that working journalists receive house sites, health cards, and educational concessions. He assured that he would stand by journalists in cases of illegal cases and harassment they face while performing their duties. The MLA advised journalists to fearlessly bring the truth before society and sharpen their pens in a way that guides the government on public issues.

● Journalism means bringing facts to light – Jupalli Ramesh Babu.

Aswaraopeta Municipal Vice Chairman Jupalli Ramesh Babu said that governments should fully support journalists who work selflessly for the welfare of society. He called for thoroughly examining and publishing facts while writing news to create a healthy atmosphere in society, and for waging an uncompromising struggle wherever there is a problem.

● Welfare schemes should reach every eligible journalist – E Prabhakar.

TJMU founding state president E Prabhakar expressed anguish that it has become customary for rulers to make many promises to journalists before elections and forget them after winning. He said it was not appropriate for governments to delay matters by creating distinctions between small and big journalists. He demanded that house sites, double-bedroom houses, pensions, and health cards be issued to all eligible working journalists irrespective of accreditation. He requested that government advertisements be allocated equally for the survival of small newspapers, and that two accreditations be granted to each district. He said that the TJMU union would stand by journalists regarding their problems and the cases they face, and that training classes for working journalists would soon be conducted in Bhadradri district, calling on everyone to come forward. He said that those with accreditation alone are not journalists, that working journalists are also journalists and no one needs to be afraid, that everyone should continuously stand together for the people and for the members of our union, and that general body meetings would be conducted in all constituencies of Bhadradri district and a grand meeting would be organized in Bhadradri district, urging everyone to cooperate. He called on all journalists to unite and come forward, stating that as an affiliated organization of the National Union of Journalists India NUJI, large-scale struggles for journalists rights would be conducted in the future.
TJMU Bhadradri Kothagudem district president Samala Praveen Kumar, treasurer AM Kumar, organizing secretary Pathagatla Ravi, Khammam district organizing secretary P Praneeth Kumar, leaders G Rajasekhar, Ravi, Srimannarayana, along with a large number of reporters from all corners of the constituency, local public representatives, and political leaders participated in the general body meeting.
