Vinayaka, a devotional song is being heard from the mandapam of Vighneshwara, ‘Vinayaka ninu vinabrochutaku’. Then another devotional song. Immediately after that, film songs played in the ‘Dhoodhoo, Dhaadhaa’ dance programs, with DJ sounds. Just then we felt like submitting a few earthly matters to Vinayaka, and felt like making a few small representations, hence this attempt. Though this may sound like nindastuti, it may seem so; that is what many poets have done. What do you lack, Vinayaka, Parvati Devi is your mother, and none other than Parameshwara is your father. Whatever head you want, he will fix it for you. The Pramadhaganas are all under you. Since your ears are large, those DJ sounds do nothing to you. Our small ears, and the eardrums inside them, are not as powerful as yours. Because of them, elders and small children are facing many problems. Researchers have concluded that these are causing hearing problems, nerve problems, and ultimately even mental health problems. In some places, clay idols appear as environmental Vinayakas, but all the rest are made of plaster of Paris. And now there is no water anywhere because of the El Nino effect. Your devotees are not listening when asked to install small idols. We are already seeing a world that is heating up. With the din of firecrackers, and colors and chemicals that increase pollution, they are making it worse.
Your father told you to go into the forest and bring the head of an animal sleeping with its head facing north, to attach it to you. Now, for elephants, tigers, lions, and other animals, there is no need to go anywhere in the forests. As forests are being cut down and hills are being excavated, destroying their habitats, they themselves are coming directly into our fields and villages. To install your idols, they are cutting down the trees along the roads as they please. They are sending away the greenery, saying ‘Go Green, Green Go’. Here and there, some environmentalists are installing what they call an environmental Vinayaka. Except for that, everywhere else they are doing all the usual things that harm our nature. Everyone sits and talks before the festival, but afterward they forget everything amid the din of those DJs. It is already like summer, yet bursting firecrackers, rockets with smoke, sounds, colorful lights, and so on may look good to watch, but they are in no way suitable for this El Nino climate and are causing trouble to people, that is, your devotees. We learned that a woman died after her heart stopped because of these DJ sounds.
We saw the floods in Nepal, and on social media they are posting every day in all the groups that Cape Town, the capital of South Africa, has already become a waterless city and that there people have to buy water like petrol and diesel. Bengaluru is said to be next on the list. Already, in many cities, because there is no water for immersion, they are building walls in the waterless canals where the huge idols are immersed every time, filling them with water through tankers, and making arrangements for immersion. The pollution increasing because of wars, and the greenhouse effect, are also reasons for this situation to have arisen. You are the leader of the Pramadhaganas. Why not have those demons, Trumpasura and Netanyahu, attacked by your Pramadhaganas. Or tell your daddy and have them attach heads with brains that give them good ideas. As far as the country is concerned, it seems that all the people of our country have seen the Chavithi moon, and that is why we are suffering all sorts of troubles. And here, they are resolving that if there is power, they will sit in the Chief Minister’s seat, but they will not sit as the Leader of the Opposition. They have forgotten that it is a cabinet-rank position. Actually, a leader should be at the forefront of everything, like you, but these people are at the forefront for power. They are trying to rule like hereditary empires from the days of kings.
Vinayaka, please show us some khairiyat. Our leaders seem a little confused about whether height is important or one-upmanship is important. They are looking at size, but they are not evolving. Students place their books before you and pray for good marks in their exams. They circumambulate you, and do gunjils. But for some, if they give ‘dakshinas’, papers are leaked beforehand ‘adharmanga’. Now there is no direction even for the leaders certificates. As in the movie Jathiratnalu, ‘What is the use of your status, sir, if you cannot even get a fake tenth-class certificate’, status has risen greatly in our country. As if saying ‘Paisame Hai Paramatma’, all our education is in money. Vighna Vinayaka, these are these appeals because you understand our troubles and will relieve our difficulties.
