Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy says project will improve groundwater levels and enhance the urban environment

Ramanthapur, July 12: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy inaugurated the restoration works of Ramanthapur Pedda Cheruvu in Ramanthapur Division at an estimated cost of ₹19 crore. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said the project aims to increase the lake’s water storage capacity, improve groundwater recharge, and strengthen environmental conservation in the surrounding areas. He said the restored lake would feature greenery, walking tracks, and other public amenities, transforming it into a major recreational space for residents. Lakshma Reddy stated that protecting and restoring neglected water bodies is essential for preserving ecological balance and ensuring sustainable urban development. He added that the project forms part of the broader development initiatives being undertaken in the Uppal constituency, including improvements in drinking water supply, roads, drainage, education, and healthcare. Former corporators, BRS leaders, party workers, and local residents attended the programme.
