Seek timely issuance of accreditation cards and bus pass approvals for eligible journalists.

Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 6: A group of journalists submitted a complaint to Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collector Mikkilineni Manu Chowdary during the Prajavani grievance programme on Monday, alleging irregularities in the functioning of District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) Swarnalatha.

The journalists alleged delays in distributing approved accreditation cards and approving bus passes for accredited media personnel. They stated that accreditations had already been sanctioned in accordance with Government Order (GO) No. 252, but were not being issued to eligible journalists due to what they described as avoidable procedural objections.

They also sought an inquiry into the alleged verification of empanelled newspaper offices by private individuals, urging the district administration to take appropriate action if any irregularities were found.

According to the journalists, the District Collector responded positively to their representation and assured them that necessary steps would be taken to ensure that all eligible journalists receive their accreditation cards without delay.

Journalists’ union leaders Merugu Chandramohan, Belide Ashok Gupta, Muthyam Mukesh Goud and others were present during the submission of the memorandum.
