Leaders urge government to fulfil assurances on house sites, pensions and welfare benefits at Uppal meeting.

Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 5: An all-party gathering of Telangana movement activists was held in Uppal under the leadership of second-phase Telangana activist Nertham Bhaskar Goud. The meeting, presided over by Gajjala Satyaraj, was attended by a large number of activists from across the constituency. Senior activists who participated in the first phase of the Telangana movement were felicitated in recognition of their contribution to the statehood struggle. Addressing the meeting, Bhaskar Goud said Telangana activists played a crucial role in achieving statehood and recalled that the Congress party had promised 250-square-yard house sites, monthly pensions, identity cards, health cards and other welfare measures for activists in its 2023 election manifesto. He urged the state government to implement these commitments without further delay and demanded special measures to ensure the welfare and recognition of Telangana movement activists. Several Telangana movement leaders, activists and women representatives participated in the meeting and extended support to the demand for the early implementation of the promised welfare measures.
