Federation demands immediate implementation of accreditation cards, health cards, housing plots and other welfare measures for journalists

Medchal – Malkajgiri, July 13: The Telangana Working Journalists Federation (TWJF) staged a protest in front of the Medchal-Malkajgiri District Collectorate on Monday, demanding the immediate implementation of welfare promises made to journalists and protection of media freedom.
As part of the statewide agitation, journalists raised slogans seeking resolution of long-pending issues. Addressing the gathering, TWJF state leaders S.K. Saleema and Gummadi Prasad, along with district president Mallesh Goud and district secretary Banavath Ravi Naik, alleged that the government had failed to implement key assurances, including issuance of accreditation cards, health cards, housing plots, and fee concessions for journalists’ children.
The leaders warned that the agitation would be intensified if the government did not take immediate steps to fulfil the promises made to the journalist community.
Following the protest, the federation submitted a memorandum to the District Collector. A large number of TWJF district and constituency office-bearers, leaders, and journalists participated in the demonstration.
