Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy Pays Tribute to Alluri Sitarama Raju on 129th Birth Anniversary

Medchal, July 4: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy paid floral tributes to the statue of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju at HB Colony Main Road in Meerpet HB Colony Division on the occasion of his 129th birth anniversary. Former corporators Kotha Rama Rao, Jeripothula Prabhudas, Gundarapu Srinivas Reddy, and Golluri Anjaiah, along with party leaders and local residents, also participated in the programme. Speaking on the occasion, the MLA described Alluri Sitarama Raju as one of India’s greatest freedom fighters, stating that his armed struggle against British rule remains a remarkable chapter in the country’s freedom movement. He recalled that Alluri led tribal communities with limited resources and challenged the British Empire with extraordinary courage, sacrificing his life for the nation at the age of 27 in 1924. Several BRS leaders, including Vanjari Praveen, Ullem Balaraju, Naveen Goud, Harinath Reddy, Gadiyaram Ramakrishna, Kumar, Sandeep Yadav, Shekhar Goud, Poosa Ramesh, Jaipal, Madhu Varma, DVSSN Raju, Jayarama Raju, Ramakrishna, and Vasu Raju, were present at the event.
