Hyderabad, July 3: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy met Telangana Director General of Police C.V. Anand and submitted a representation seeking the establishment of a separate police station for Ramanthapur Division in the Uppal Assembly constituency. The MLA stated that nearly one lakh people reside in Ramanthapur Division and that the area currently falls under the jurisdiction of both Uppal Police Station and Osmania University Police Station, creating challenges in effective policing. He also requested that the Habsiguda area be brought under the proposed Ramanthapur Police Station limits. Lakshma Reddy said the growing population, expanding geographical area, increasing drug-related activities, and the need to curb anti-social elements make a separate police station essential. He noted that a dedicated police station would strengthen law enforcement, improve surveillance, enhance crime prevention, and ensure faster police services for residents. He urged the DGP to consider the proposal favourably and approve the new police station at the earliest in the interest of public safety and effective policing.
