AS Rao Nagar: A group of consumers — Sattireddy, Naresh, and Ganesh — alleged that they were served stale and foul-smelling food at a restaurant in AS Rao Nagar, leading to a heated confrontation and an alleged assault by the management. According to the complainants, they visited the restaurant to have biryani but were served cold, tasteless biryani along with Khubani Ka Meetha that emitted a rotten smell. When they questioned the staff about the quality of the food, the staff reportedly dismissed their concerns and offered to replace the items. The consumers objected, questioning how spoiled and foul-smelling food could be served in the first place. When they warned of filing a complaint with authorities, the situation escalated, and the restaurant management allegedly attacked them. The victims demanded strict legal action against the restaurant management for serving unsafe food and endangering public health. They also expressed suspicion that spoiled chicken and leftover biryani might be stored and reused the next day. Following the complaint, Kushaiguda police took the restaurant management into custody and shifted them to the police station for further investigation. Meanwhile, motorists complained about frequent traffic congestion in front of the restaurant due to vehicles being parked on the main road and footpath, causing inconvenience to the public. Authorities are expected to take further action based on the investigation and food safety inspection.
