
Kapra: Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy stated that the efforts made by the Kapra Press Club for the welfare of journalists are commendable. He advised media professionals to continue practicing value-based journalism and uphold ethical standards. He remarked that times have changed, and the relationship between journalists and political leaders has shifted, stressing the need for fearless and responsible reporting. He cautioned journalists against involving themselves in activities such as borewell issues and house construction matters, urging them to focus on delivering unbiased information to society. The MLA noted that journalists are facing multiple challenges in the current scenario, and appreciated the Kapra Press Club for taking initiatives toward their welfare, including protection of rights, financial security, and healthcare support. He praised the efforts of Press Club leaders Merugu Chandramohan, Muthyam Mukesh Goud, and Ramachandra Murthy for actively working in this direction. He emphasized that the media acts as the fourth pillar of democracy, and strengthening journalists will further reinforce democratic values. He assured that the government would extend necessary support for the welfare of journalists in the future. Some journalists expressed concern over the conduct of certain individuals, pointing out that past controversies involving police cases and social media incidents are being overlooked while making public statements. Critics alleged that a few members are attempting to maintain their relevance by targeting others and spreading negative narratives. They warned against hypocrisy and advised individuals to reflect on their own actions before criticizing others. Senior journalists suggested that genuine efforts toward the welfare of media professionals and adherence to journalistic values would earn respect from all. They cautioned against misusing the organization’s name for personal interests and called for unity and professionalism within the press community.
