Cyber Safety Workshop at DPS Nacharam: Empowering Students for a Safer Digital Future

The Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate, in collaboration with the Malkajgiri Security Council (MKSC), conducted a Cyber Safety Workshop at Delhi Public School, Nacharam on April 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The program was attended by Chief Guest S.G. Shiva Shankar, ACP Cyber Crimes. The event was organized under the guidance of Avinash Mohanty, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Malkajgiri, who continues to encourage community-focused awareness initiatives. Other attendees included M. Savithri, Associate Director, MKSC, and K. Dhanunjaya, Inspector of Police. The workshop featured expert speakers such as Shiva Prasad Karadi, Joint Secretary, MKSC (Infosys), Shashidhar Matta, Executive Protection Specialist and Trainer, and Dr. Arpitha Velanky, Leadership and Behaviour Transformation Expert. More than 2000 students participated, making the session highly impactful. The session covered important topics related to cyber safety, including cyberbullying and its legal consequences such as plagiarism, inappropriate messaging, and defamation. It also focused on protecting digital footprints, understanding cyber threats, and ways to prevent them. Students were educated about risks from harmful or inappropriate online content, online gaming safety, digital etiquette, and the importance of digital detox. The speakers also discussed child helpline support systems, the reality of chat encryption, risks of sharing personal images on social media, and threats related to hacking and privacy violations. Students actively participated in the session and gained practical knowledge on using digital platforms safely and responsibly. This initiative highlights the ongoing efforts of the Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate and MKSC to build awareness and promote responsible digital behaviour among young citizens.
